Self Care Gift Set
Give a truly homemade gift from the farm with this gift set including a piece of cold-processed Milk & Tallow Soap + Farm-Grown Loofah from either Crown Hill Farm or our friends at Massachusetts Avenue Project.
Believe it or not, loofah comes not from a sea sponge but from a gourd in the cucumber family. Traditionally, Loofah is difficult to grow in our WNY region because they love a warmer climate, however with the help of our greenhouses, I’ve loved growing them here. Loofah sponges are wonderful to exfoliate your skin and stimulate blood flow. Used in combination with one of our soaps, you have the perfect skin treatment!
The cold-processed soaps are made the old fashioned way! I start with local suet (beef fat) which I render down to make a clean white oil. Then I combine this with fresh raw milk from a farm friend’s cow in addition to coconut oil, and high quality essential oils. After the saponification process, I come out with these creamy, sudsing soaps with a lovely light scent that do a wonderful job at keeping your hands soft and moisturized.
My soaps represent community and togetherness. I always make them with friends and whomever is gathered around the farm kitchen at the time as we talk, share and enjoy each other’s company. That joy goes into each and every bar of soap.
