This Border Leicester Wool is spun at Blue Mountain Farm & Fiber Mill with only Crown Hill Farm’s fibers from our mindfully-raised sheep — Sarah, Abraham, Lily, Ruth, & Isaac.

I've dyed these skeins with colors from our natural dye gardens and foraged on Crown Hill Farm property. Purple Moon is dyed with extra dark purple carrots from our gardens called Black Nebula. These carrots are also delicious to eat packed full of antioxidants.

My first dream of dyeing our wool was with edible foods from our gardens. I’ve expanded beyond that at this point, but this carrot purple was one of my original inspirations. The first time I cut one of these carrots, it stained my cutting board deep purple for about a week. The color on this yarn is just lovely.

Everything from Crown Hill Farm are Heirloom varieties and Heritage breeds, sustainably and mindfully grown with respect to land, plants, animals and soil.
